Park City XC Invitational - 2013
iPod5 pano, LR5 adjustments, looking west
The course is marked in red: Fast Pitch to Hat Trick to Fast Pitch
They start/end near the baseball diamond; 3.05mi by this crude measure.
Lead runners in the Men's JV race.
I was still looking for a spot when these two passed. They lead on the way back too.
Isaac M, Alta JV, rounding the bend after the hill
Fast Track, turning onto Hat Trick
Men's JV race
Men's JV leaders, on their toes and on their way back
That's Park City, or Canyons, or Deer Valley in the background
Alta Men's JV, on their way back
Wide-open country, with a trail.
One runner, encouraging another
As they passed one was encouraging the other to keep at it..
Probably Deer Valley Resort
It's one of three in the country that allow snowboarding not.. .
Women's Varsity leader, from Herriman
She lead the way out, and back.
Home town runners, about 1mi from their high school
Park City HS is about 1mi over that pass.
It's 35 or 40 degrees; spectators are chilled.
Alta Women's Varsity runners, 1st
Evanston, WY running just ahead of Alta
Evanston is about 60 miles east of Park City..
Sheep entering the pasture south of the course
Between races I experimented with metering and aperture mode..
Sheep, a pass, PC high, PC, and ski resorts.
It's wide open, but it's always under development too: pastoral for now..
The finish line: Kramer is across the field.
No clock.. Not sure how they're timing this.
"I got this thing, again.."
Kramer Morton, wrapping up another quick 5k run.
Just checking I guess..
Kramer Morton, about to cross the finish at the Park City Invitational XC 5K
Alta's 2nd place
Alta's 3rd place runner
Alta's 4th place runner
Chase's Dilworth friend, running for Corner Cnyn
Alta's 5th runner; our man Chase.. Go Chase!
Assistant coach, Isaac, and other Alta runners
I should shoot more of these almost-direct-into-the-sun shots. I like the results.
Isaac, checking the BYU/USU game
I think he's getting a pair of gloves back too..
Chase catches up w IHMS friends
The other runners are recharged, if not a bit chilled..
One more layer, the wind-break layer
Chase's runner friends from IHMS maybe..
Almost a reunion..
I'm told the runners are mostly encouraged to run for their "personal best"..
I like attending these things..
even if we have to park miles away and ride a shuttle bus to the venue..
