"my pet" jumping spider, on the lens of a 40-year-old fluorescent ceiling light
Garden Orb spider, with a back big enough for a small mural.

directly below a jumping spider
just can't wait to get on the road again..
3 times the size of all the others we've seen
This was so big Tammy looked it up. We were surprised to learn it was a wolf spider.
Eight eyes seen from above: favorite view.
I suppose Wolfy has eight eyes: something like eight eyes are showing on its face.
A beautiful creature that freaks everyone out
It died w/o a mark on it. Strange.
Eight eyes, or four eyes and quad exhausts, eight legs, big fury fangs, stripes, fur, etc...
The lens, and 12mm extension tune, we're about an inch from its face..
3" toe to toe, a biggy
Biggest wolf spider I've seen at our house, found upside-down & dead in the garage.
Bigger than a dime.
A relative size reference, but this doesn't do it justice.
Legs recently curled in; not sure it was deceased.
We got home with groceries. Tammy just pointed at it, upside down next to the car.
Daring Jumping Spider, perhaps winding up to jump..
Daring Jumping Spider, greeting me 3May13 on the desk nearest mine. It's one of those bug-eyed guys I've seen much better pictures of on SmugMug. I shot it w my S95, the only camera I had. Valerie C. would not have enjoyed finding this at 7:50am.. She shivered when I showed her the picture.
"Establishing shot", showing the spider in relation to a 3/4" thick desk.
This would have freaked out Valerie C., the first student to sit at the desk..
