Shot 1 minute of "elusive animal" video this morning, and had to use the wireless trigger to do it.
Red-Tailed Hawk: LR5 slideshow
It flew into my yard, rested in a Cottonwood, then flew down into the Dell.
Bear River Bird Refuge
A 1:41sec audio recording (with some video) featuring some of the sounds in the refuge. If you listen carefully you can hear the Arctic Tundra swan, a rounds from a shot-gun, and me bumping the car antenna with my elbow.
Northern Harrier Hawk, slideshow
A 20s slideshow of a Northern Harrier with, as far as I can tell, a clump of grass, spooked when it saw me taking its picture. It dropped the item and flew to the East. I've looked at each frame closely and I can see nothing that resembles food in the bundle it is carrying.
Belted Kingfisher, bobbing on a Russian Olive branch
Theres' a kingfisher behind the "play" icon. It's surfing a long slender branch sticking out over the pond.
(i shot this in an attempt to record it's rattle: stage fright struck and he's silent)
Hummingbird, backyard feeder
Broad tailed hummer, 25yds
Shot in 780p60, but I can only watch it at half speed (cooler view) in QT7.
Tv 1/125 1/(2*framerate), iso 640 (for xtra dof), tripod, Sennheiser 400 mic
A 27s video clip of Vlad (other guy's feather in tow) drinking on the dark side. Nothing
special. You can hear him chirp (and the attic fan that came on seconds before).
Northern Harrier Hawk: slide show
A female Northern Harrier scratching her head in flight with its talons, 34s.
(rather than upload separate clips and hope people viewed them in sequence..)
This hawk earned its meal: it took about 4 hours for it to kill and completely eat it's prey. I shot this (3min.) video through a 300/2.8 lens and 2xTC on a tripod with my 5dmkii. I put the video together with Final Cut Express. 28Dec10
